God Edd

Why are you so awesome?

Congrats on all the awards and shizz, the extra time and work you've put into it has really paid off. Keep flashin bro

eddsworld responds:

Thanks a lot Lenko! Looking forward to the next 'Rocket Crotch'!

HAHAHA oh my god

Fucking awesome work dude. The people voting and reviewing low still shows that most of the newgrounds audience doesn't give a shit about actual animation quality : /

Either way man, keep flashin. we need more people like you around. awesome

Catoblepas responds:

Why, cheers matey boy!

lovely.

gorgeous art, could have done with a little bit more animation, but still pretty neat.

idiot-monarch responds:

Thank you! There would've been more animation if I had had more time to work on it.

YES.

My absolute favourite Pico Day submission so far.

Fast-paced, oozing style, and really well directed.

God bless you.

Nogfish responds:

THANK YOU SIR.

Big fan of Rocket Crotch I am.

Glad you liked it.

kinda late don't you think?

Sorry bro, can't say i enjoyed it. None of the material's technicallly 'yours' apart from the lip-syncing skills - stolen graphics and stolen audio for the most part.

You get a two for that Futurama part haha. But yeah, Phoenix Wrong's an old fad.

fusion-of-flash responds:

Hey it's np, you cant like everything ^^

heh.

Well, the idea's been done before as you said, but you also sort of built on it in a way. I especially liked how he jumped from the desktop to the internet etc. Using Minesweeper.exe as a bomb was priceless

You could have made it more impressive if you didn't use a generic stickman, and maybe he could have drawn some little cronies to help him out or something.

It also would have been cool as fuck if he leapt into Solitaire and threw cards everywhere to disorientate the mouse : P

Overall good stuff!

KobraEditing responds:

I know!...I was gonna do the cards thing...maybe next time. And as for backup, again maybe next time. Thank you!

heh!

At first I was expecting 'Awesome Fantasy XII' and I groaned. But then I saw that you made half-beard, which I loved, so I pressed on

And I gotta say, you did a great job! Characters were really active and believable, graphics were functional in some areas and great in others, I especially like how you drew stuff from different angles etc.

Nothing was mega funny but I still smiled here and there.

Overall good stuff man!

Bobert-Rob responds:

No awesome in the title, so no reason to half ass the drawing and scream a bunch. Of course, I did yell a FEW times in this, but not as much as would be in an awesome title. Plus, I'd much rather distinguish my own style instead of borrowing from others. Glad you enjoyed what you did, biscuit!

decent.

This keeps popping in and out of the Top 50 so I decided to give it a shot and see what all the fuss is about.

Sound was okay, well-balanced, typical hyper fight music blah de blah. Graphics were in this sort of bland semi-anime style, and to be honest while the line/pencil tool is great for making your stuff look clean, it also makes things look really thin and sort of wierd. There wasn't really much that made Nazi or whatever he was called stand out that much from the billions of other Sonic characters either. He was kinda boring.

I did admire how you sort of revelled in how cliche this was, whilst everything was over-the-top, overdone and overall really really silly, you obviously had fun doing it and although its a mesh of two things that I REALLY don't think go together well (Sonic and Dragonball), it was at least a somewhat entertaining story.

Animation was okay, some nice frame by frame in some parts. Let's just hope your future fight scenes aren't all rainbow-coloured light shows ;-)

Chakra-X responds:

Thanks a lot! This is a very fair review. You do not like Sonic-DBZ themed flashes and the cliche, over the top, cheezy dialouge/thematics, but still found some enjoyment out in my work. I can most definitely respect that.

While I can say my future projects will be more original and stylized, I do love me some special effects :D

Do you think this is worthy of a spot in the/around the top 50?

haha

as soon as I saw the word 'dumb' in the portal connected to some sort of video game, i knew roger had returned.

after viewing this, i think you've finally found a properly good animation style for yourself. your old movies used to be these cute scribbly doodle things, but they were tweened across the screen most of the time and I think that put some people of a bit, regardless of the writing or whatever.

But the frame by frame in this has helped a LOAD with your general look, it suits the style of your toons greatly. its kinda like watching a bunch of doodles come to life, and i find that really appealing.

ah yeah, you talked about the quality on your recent subs not being 'good' enough but at least its better than another sprite movie.

also, lol'd at 'Generic Start Button'

RogerregoRRoger responds:

Well, my main concern about Newgrounds is that I seem to hit the front page everytime.
I remember when I was a starting animator I was angry at other lame sprite artists who hit the frontpage, while I barely got attention (no suprise with how awfull my old work was, but yeah ^^;)
So with that on my mind, I feel uncomforteble seeing every of my "quickly made in a week" movies get in the hall of fame, so I stick more at Deviantart which seems more a social community rather then Newgrounds "battle for the best" attitude.

And I agree I should do more frame by frame, then I at least have an excuse for having roughly drawn characters. Still, most of the time I want to finish as many movies off as possible, being more of a storyteller then a animator, so I keep the FBF work as special desert movies.
All depends on priority I suppose.

Dude!

I loved Home Movies, great job on this. your style would have worked perfect for the show.

sexysexybicycle responds:

I dunno... I love the simplistic style of the show! It totally fits the vibe. It was fun to do it in my own though. I'm glad you liked it!
