[Paper Mario World]

fun.

up until the temple i was like 'meh, standard mario game'. Then the whole glowing cap thing was introduced and I was like 'holy crap, this is good!'

Fun stuff, lack of checkpoints was VERY annoying though. Either way, it shows a load of promise. fix the controls up, add some scrolling and you'll have a great series.

sorta dissapointing!

Being able to draw your own ship was ACE. More flash authors need to put customization in their games like that!!

However, the actual game wasn't much more than a slow-paced asteroids clone : ( it feels like a lot is missing from it in a way. missons and stuff would have been cool!

Its nice how there's never a definite answer to each puzzle, its very freeform.

You got the basics down very well, knowing how movieclips,layers etc. work can be very helpful for flash newbies.

However, what i'd work on is your presentation - it was nice having Grey Sonic talk us through the tutorial but the speech bubbles sorta jumped around a bit, and it wasn't really the most pleasant flash to look at.

What you really need to work on is compression - with the right settings you could make this submission only 1MB tops, with the exact same content. There's a few tutorials on here on how to do that, or you could just download a .swf compresser.
